What are the Best way to do the Setup for Suprema Devices & Software? | Beginners Guide

Suprema is one of the best and Premium Biometrics, used for Time Attendance& Access control purposes.

If the very first time you are going to do the Suprema setup then follow the steps and you will surely be stuck nowhere...
  • Power up the device.
Note:- All the Suprema Face Devices work on 24V, so in order to get the Perfect result user 24V. For Finger or other use 12V.
It’s recommended to use the Given and specified Power Adapter/Supply
  • Now if your devices are Poweredup then Connect the Internet cable, for better results enable DHCP, so you do not need to look for a valid IP, it will get the IP Automatically any time it restarts.
  • Now Once the device has got the IP address make sure the device & the Computer, Where the software will be installed are on the same network.
  • To confirm that, check the IP of the device and try IP ping from the Computer.
  • Open Command Prompt, Type ping 192.168.1.224 (whatever IP your device has got)

Software Download Setup 

Download the Biostar Software.
Note:- Check the System Type and download the Biostar for 32 bit or 64-bit system
  • Download the Biostar2 from the Suprema website, according to your operating system architecture.
  • Before Installing the software confirm the required database because by default Biostar2 installs on Maria Db, MS SQL is Optional and that’s the recommended Database
  • Software installation is quite easy you just have to follow the Instruction and hit next next next...
  • At the time of installation, do remember the Passwords for both Login and Maria Databases, because there is no recovery of that, if you forget that password then Reinstallation is the only way.
If you as ask my recommendation use the same password for both Login and Maria Database as well.

Enrollment Process
Enrollment Directly From Device
  • From the device menu, you can directly add any user.
Note :- Above Screenshot is from The Face Station F2 device, different devices options might have different.


Method 1  

Adding Users from Software ha several it's up to you which is more convenient to you.

  • Login Your Biostar2 and Go to User then Click on Add User
  • Fill the User Details, like Name, Department, Title Id, etc
Note:- ID Once added can’t be changed. 

  • Now Follow the Basic Rules, Select the Device, Click on + Add.
  • Press the Finger or Show the Face or Enter the Card Credentials Manually.
  • Click Enroll and Apple, you are done adding a user.
By using the same process you can add all the users one by one.

  • Login Your Biostar2.
  • Go to User Select any User or Administrator. Now Click on the ... at top right Corner
  • Click on CSV Export, this will download a CSV file where All the User's details need to be filled.
  • Once all the details are filled in the CSV file simply Just go to, CSV Import > Select the CSV file > and Process the Import.
  • Once all the user details are updated in software, now just
  • Go to User Click on Any available user and now Follow the Method -1
Method 3  (CSV + Photo)
Note :- This method is only for Face Devices like Face station F2 etc
  • Login Your Biostar2.
  • Go to User Select any User or Administrator. Now Click on the ... at top right Corner
  • Click on CSV Export, this will download a CSV file where All the User's details need to be filled.
Note :-
    •  Get the Picture of all the users and keep it at the same place of CSV File.
    • Supported image file size is up to 10MB.
    • Supported image file formats are JPG, JPEG and PNG.
  • Enter the user details along with the file name of visual face image, including  the extension in visual face column  (face_image_file1, face_image_file2) of CSV file, and then save it. 
  • Import CSV file that added visual faces into BioStar 2 
  • by referring to Import CSV. 
  • Click Browse, select the path where visual face images are stored, then click Upload.
Note:-  It is recommended to use the same path for the CSV file and visual face image files to be loaded. Supported image file size is up to 10MB. Supported image file formats are JPG, JPEG and PNG

Method 4  (Enrollment From Mobile Enrollment Link)
Note :- This method is only for Face Devices like Face station F2 etc
  • Login Your Biostar2.
  • Follow Method 2 to upload al the users in software using CSV or enter them manually one by one like Method 1.
  • Select users from the user you intend to enroll faces. 
  • Now Click on the … at top right Corner
  • Now click on Send Visual face Mobile Enrollment Link.
Note:-
    • For this process below requirement must be fulfilled.
    • Software license Must be Activated.
    • Email SMTP setting must be Active. Email Id must be added in User details.
  • Once email is sent to the user.
  • Take a picture of the user on a mobile device with a camera. 
  • Follow the guide shown on the screen to register your face photo.
    Note:-
      • The supported image file size is a minimum of 250 x 250, maximum of 10MB.
      • From BioStar 2.8.10, the minimum size limit is removed.
      • Visual Face Enrollment link sent will expire after 24 hours.

    How to change default login name & password in Realsoft 10.7?

    In Realsoft desktop software the default login credentials are are rss so for the security purpose you can change the credentials. Follow the steps below to do the same. Login in software with default credentials. Now go to Administrator then Change Passwor d to change User Name and Password.     How to Reset / Delete all data from Realtime Devices Using Software ?

    Sometime when your Realtime face device's memory is full and it starts showing Transaction Full and you want to clear the logs or If you want to refresh the device and delete any or all enrollments, All these can be done using software or from the device directly.
